Today is my dads birthday and I just wanted to let everyone know what an awesome guy he is... I got the pleasure of being raised by wonderful parents. My dad has been someone I have always looked up to, not just because he is 6'8'', but because he is such a wonderful example of what kind of person I have always wanted to be.
Top Ten Reasons I love my dad!!!
1.His sense of humor, he is the funniest person I know...
2.His guidence, I have not always been smart enough to listen...but he always has great advice that I know comes from the heart...
3.His understanding, I have not made all the right desicions in my life, but my dad has never turned his back on me...
4. His testimony, he loves the lord and the gospel and I have NEVER questioned that.
5. His relentless teasing, I am sure I need years of therepy! :)
6. His generosity, I have never gone with out anything I have needed...or wanted!
7. His love of sports...the man still gets "taped up" for every game! I have never been a fan of any sports but I always have a warm comfortable feeling when sports are on as back ground noise because it reminds me of him.
8. His sense of style, he has never been a flip flop kind of guy, he always has expensive nice things to wear and he always looks his best! I have never in 23 years seen him leave the house or do anything before he is showered and cleaned up!
9. His grandparenting skills, he is such a wonderful grandpa, Rowdy loves him and he truly loves his grandchildren!
10. His Hair, I am so thankful that I take after him if for nothing else I have thick hair that grows like a weed thanks to him!
I could think of hundreds of more things I love about him, he is a wonderful guy, I am so thankful he is my dad...I LOVE YOU DAD, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
One more favorite...
His Pride, he won't take the senior discount anywhere, and it does not madder how mad it makes my mom, he simply "forgets" to mention it anytime it could be used in his advantage! :)
What a guy!!!

What a deal.....
So last night I am doing my daily "craigslist" browse, where I look threw tons of things people are selling. Normally the search consist of laughing at peoples junk they have posted and want large sums of money for, or oohing and ahhing at the "good stuff" I could never afford.
But last night was different, although I do a daily search...I have never actually bought anything ( come to think of it nothing I have ever listed sold either, why I have become so involved with this site I will never know) but that's besides the point. Last night I came across a posting for a brand spankin new plush recliner, that heats up,vibrates, has two cup holders and a spot for the remote...
Now I have always been skeptical of recliners, expecially the tricked out... bells and whisels type. Mainly because I have never come across one that is being used and actually works still. But my husbend loves them, he always wants to go and try them out at the lazy boy store and we have gone to all of the stores with in resonable driving distance that have this comfy chairs so he can test them out, and try and talk me into one of these "treasures" .
Now back to last nights post, the listing did not include pictures, but it did include there smokin hot price! So I called...
The cutest, oldest sounding lady answered the phone and reported that it was a brand new delux model that she had won playing bingo, but that the chair was simple to big for her and she felt like it was trying to swallow her.
The odd part of the conversation is when I asked what color it was, she descibed it as "well honey I would call the color Tacky" which I thought was a weird way to "sell" the chair. But because by now Jimmy was involved...we loaded up and went to go check it out.
When we arrived at the house to my delight the recliner was a warm brown, that wasnt tacky at all. Infact, I was pleasently surprised.
We each took it for a spin, and it was the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. We simply couldn't leave it there and for the price it was one heck of a deal. I must say the hours I have spent on Craigslist have finally payed off, and Jimmy has never been so stinky HAPPY with his long awaited recliner!!!!

What is up with my blog???
Okay so here is the skinny, something seems to be wrong with my page...the tricky part is I can't see it...when I look at my page everything is fine, it looks just like it should. But thanks to Amy I am aware that she is seeing something very different. X's over my pictures and weird photobucket comments etc. I am not sure how to fix the problem because I can't see it on my computer...
This is just to let everyone know I am aware and helpless! I will try and figure it out, until then consider my page a work in progess :)

Flood.....Crud!
So Jimmy is still working in the emergency flood business, and it seems like everytime we ever make plans to do something, just as we are getting ready to leave he gets a flood call...We have had to cancel so many date nights, I have completely stopped making plans for fear that I am going to some how bring on the floods if I do.

Now I love the fact the Jimmy is a hard worker, I never hear him complain about getting called in at all hours and any day, (corse maybe I can't hear him over myself complaining :) but everytime I hear his phone ring I want to yell CRUD theres another FLOOD!
Now there isn't really any point to this rant, other then Jimmy got called into a flood in the middle of church today, so we all ended up coming home ( no way I am going to battle Rowdy at church alone right now) and we missed our marriage class that I am enjoying...so I felt like complaining, and the truth is Rowdy just isn't that sympathetic, not much of a listener, and never has good advice! :)

Kiss me Baby, Im yours....
Today I taught my son how to kiss, not something I thought I would ever be proud to say...But after months of slobery, drooly, open mouthed face plants, it is so nice to ask for a kiss and have him close his mouth and give me a little smooch! He is even getting the hang of making the kissy noise...today was a good day!!!

Take Me Away
This week has been one of those weeks, we started out the week off missing our trip to the zoo due to rain...and the rest of the week has followed suit with Rowdy getting sick and our health insurance giving us the run around...I will not get into all of the other things that bummed me out. I will just say this is where I wish I had been this week...............
I would have started my days out, relaxing on a beautiful beach, soaking up the view....

My next activity would be a massage, by a near by waterfall....

I would snack on fruit cups all day long whenever I felt hungry, brought to me by Rowdy wearing a mini tuxedo....

I would have a pedicure, hand massage and a facial....

My afternoon would consist of a little yoga and a light run....

At the close of my day I would have a romantic candle light dinner with Jimmy....

Then we would slow dance, to the sunset of a perfect week......

I guess wiping Rowdys snotty nose, and doing laundry all week is pretty close :)

1 Month and going strong....
Today is a very important day in our little family...today markes one month since Jimmy has quit drinking Diet Coke. For anyone who knows Jimmy, you know this is amazing! Not a day has gone by in our almost 3 year relationship when he did not drink at least (no exaggeration) two 64 oz. at work and polished off a 12 pack at night, this is a normal day...it doesn't even begin to descibe what I have seen him polish off in a 8 hour trip down the Salt River.
I believe the problem started at a very young age, he tells many stories of trips to Circle K with his father after church for a biggie Diet Coke, and there are mulitple home movies of him as a child being THE BEVERAGE SUPER HERO, taking down diet coke in a flash! I have yet been to a family party that someone wasn't drinking this beloved beverage.
Many of our finacial conversations, when we are trying to set up a buget, include a diet coke fund. I have been encouraging for a very long time to slow down, and cut back. Now this is not to say that I don't enjoy a Diet Coke from time to time. But I wouldn't give up an arm for this "sweet lushes nectur" as it has been refered to in our little family. Needless to say when I approached Jimmy with a plan to slim down, get healthy, stop drinking diet coke, and set some positive examples for Rowdy and any other children we have, he wasn't jumping up and down. But he finally agreed to take on this new challenge.
I am so proud of him today! He has been Diet Coke free for one month! JIMMY YOU ROCK! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Congratulations!
